Cullum Gallery/Japanese Prints
603 S. Main Street, Seattle
Beth Cullom, owner and director of Cullom Gallery, will talk about and show examples of Japanese woodblock prints from the 18th century to the present. What distinguishes Japanese prints from Western-style woodcuts? How were Japanese prints made? How many were made? What are all those marks on a Japanese print? How did printmaking in Japan change over the centuries? These questions and many others (including your own) will be addressed. Members are welcome to bring examples of Japanese prints from their own collection for a show and tell.

Salon Talk with Maxine Martell
Home of Tom & Sharon Vos
Tom & Sharon Vos will host an evening of relaxed and comfortable conversation with the highly regarded Seattle and Whidbey Island based painter and print maker, Maxine Martell. Martell will talk primarily about her print work and why she values that medium. She will show examples of older works, new works and works in progress as she talks and guest will be free to engage her in conversation. Wine and cheeses will be served. Festive & Inventive Cocktail Attire. A fundraiser with pizazz, panache and a pinch of picante. Thomas Marriott and his Jazz Quartet will fill the evening with their energetic, & high spirited music while we watch a special edition of prints roll off the press, designer Michael Cepress unveil his Men In Paper, whack the paper moon pinata, eat, drink and reach for the moon, eat a slice of it and take home even more.
